This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, and sets out which ones are used on the PipeIt website (https://pipeit-plugin.com). It is written in line with the guidance of the CNIL (the French data-protection authority) and the ePrivacy Directive as transposed into French law.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) by the website you visit. Depending on its purpose, it can store information about your browsing session, help secure the website or measure its audience. Other similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, can record information directly on your device.
The cookies we use
The PipeIt website uses no advertising, marketing or third-party tracking cookies. We do not set cookies intended to follow you, build a profile or measure advertising performance, and we do not share any browsing information with ad networks or social media platforms for targeting purposes.
As a result, no cookie-consent banner is required. The ePrivacy Directive and the CNIL’s guidelines only require consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary (advertising, non-exempt audience measurement, tracking). Since the website uses no such cookies, your prior consent is not needed.
Strictly necessary cookies
The website is hosted on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. To secure the site and protect it against malicious bots, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies, for example the __cf_bm (“bot management”) cookie. These cookies serve only to protect the website and ensure it works properly; they are not used for advertising tracking or profiling.
In accordance with the CNIL’s guidelines, cookies that are strictly necessary to provide and secure the service are exempt from the consent requirement.
Local storage
The in-browser editor and interactive demo may store functional state (for example your display preferences or the state of your working scene) in your browser’s local storage. This information stays on your own device, contains no personal data and is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage in its settings.
Audience measurement
The website currently uses no audience-measurement tool. Should such measurement be enabled in the future, it would rely on Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless and privacy-preserving solution that uses no persistent identifier and does not track visitors across sites. This feature is currently disabled; this policy will be updated if it is ever turned on.
Managing cookies
You can view, block or delete the cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. The exact steps depend on the browser you use (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.); please refer to its documentation, usually found under sections such as “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”.
On the PipeIt website this remains optional, as no tracking cookies are used. Note, however, that blocking the strictly necessary security cookies may impair the proper functioning of the site.
